Default Banned: Wanting to start over, can I?

If I went out and bought a new account, and got all three new games, would I be able to play it? I would have absolutely no access to any funds from the exploit, because I did not transfer any funds to any alternate accounts from my main, which is now permanently banned. Would I be able to start over fresh without fearing the ban stick?

Perma ban on my main btw, one of the 117, blah blah blah.

Banned once, banned always. That's my own thoughts.

I'm asking for an official statement, or even a post where a Dev says something about this.

I think there's some clause in the EULA that says when you get banned, they're banning you as a person. If they find out you got another account going, I think they'll ban you for that too. I'm not 100% sure though, I'd look it up if I were you.

Ok, it does indeed say that they will terminate any account that has traces of a banned member.

UNLESS, I have the expressed permission of NC Interactive to use the account, so, where can I contact NC Interactive?

I would say that losing an account that's had lots of time and money spent on it is punishment enough for anything.

IF you were to register a new account with a Gmail address, they wouldn't know who you were anyway.

Is NC Interactive also known as Support?

Lol, that's a kick. I still need to know though, is NC Interactive the same as NC Support? I definitely should get permission first, as according to the EULA.

You will need to change/modify your IP address somehow to be 100% safe. Then go for it.

1. because the consigner is robbing the consignee of funds that were legally transferred.

I'm speaking of money spent on the game, without an option of a refund. Therefore Arenanet is NOT allowed to continuously ban accounts without first doing a thorough investigation. Otherwise there can be court-cases involved and that's the last thing a business needs to face.

Hope I cleared it up. By Australian law...I'm not sure about any other country though.

Ta.
However much I would love to sue a game company over a game, that sounds really fun, lol, but I am just looking to play with my friends again, and maybe stay well below the line, I just need to know where and how to ask permission.

Not exactly suing,

More like receiving compensation for losses of currency that you or your guardian has put into the purchase of the item(s) in question.

Anet has no right whatsoever to simpily permaban anyone. Otherwise that is a breach of laws. It's as bad as saying "I'll buy a game, putting the money into their account and receiving nothing in return". It's just plain theft. Anyone who has ever owned or ran a company PROPERLY will understand the liabilities and the damage control. I'm part of a multi-million dollar company that trades between the states and Australian. I wish not to see any black marks of alliances.

But as I've said, All that Anet has really done has robbed you of X ammount of $$ and have given no compensation in return. I don't know what else to tell you. But there will have to be something done. Sorry I can't help you anymore than that. It's an unfair ban, unless you intentionally pulled yourself into it.

*shrug* It can't hurt to send support or even PM Gaile - can't say you will get an answer though. I'm not sure exactly who NC interactive is, however support tends to be where they want you to send questions similar to this one.

If your one that did the actual hacking then I would say just don't bother - I know the answer and it will be "no". If you took advantage of it - dunno, my guess is probably still "no" since they felt it bad enough to ban an older account. You can try and purchase them and pretty much start new (and that includes making all new friends, guild, and pretty much not being your old character) otherwise I would guess you would get the ban hammer again - this seems to have hit a real nerve with them.

It showed vulnerability of the game client to hacks, something they have always prided themselves on being impossible. They had to come down hard on this set so any others may think "hmm is it worth the risk?"

Or...suppose another member of your family, who is totally innocent, wanted to play GW and bought a copy. They would have your smae IP number , but possibly be banned for something they didn't even do...

I think they would only do that in extreme cases like major botting or excessive, persistent offensive behaviour.

As for buyng a new account, contact NCSoft or ANet support and hope that you don't get an automated response.

Pretty much nobody plays with a fixed, traceable IP address. You get your address from a pool, assigned to your ISP and you can't control (much) which one you will get.

Fixed, or static, IP are expensive...

Its been stated before in discussion with bot bannings that they will never ban via IP because some IP addresses are shared over a larger area than just a single residence.

Are you sure, you want to start it all over again? Do you really think it'll be worth it? I'd just pack up and leave, or find some other games to play. Then again, I'm not in the 117.
